Health Testing
Here
at Countryside we do what we can to provide the healthiest puppies we
can. Health testing all parent dogs is very important!

General Info:
EYES - (CERF)
Eyes should be tested by a Vet Ophthalmologist. Eyes need to be tested
Every Year. Proof of testing should be provided.
Some breeders only have the eyes tested once, that is not acceptable.
HEART - (SAS)
Heart should be tested by a Vet Cardiologist. Proof of testing should
be provided. Some breeders have their vet listen to the heart that is
not acceptable to us.
HIPS
Hips can be ex-rayed by any vet, however results should be evaluated by OFA
(Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) or Penn Hip. Proof should be
provided.
PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy)
Eyes should be tested for PRA. This is done with DNA test and evaluated by OptiGen.
Proof of testing should be provided.
